- I have old-fashioned hobbies. Most are crafts or activities my mother and grandmothers—very strong, very talented, very creative women—taught me: crocheting, quilting, pouring candles, reading, flower gardening, collecting depression glass, etc. I like to keep those crafts and activities alive and, in the process, try to honor the women who have so influenced my life.
